Welcome to LetsRide!

My name is Etienne, I live in Cape Town and this is me and my 2005 Kawasaki KDX 200!! I have been riding for just over a year now and I really love the sport! I am not that tall so this bike is a perfect fit for me and the best part is that I only paid R20 000 for it! (I would like more power though) The sticker-kit cost me around R800 extra......

Hi Etienne, nice site! Happy to see you started with a 2 stroke and a mega reliable KDX at that. R 20 000 you got a bargain. Do not sell it! More power = full FMF exhuast system, Moto Tasserini or Boysens Reed valves, Twin Air filter, and have the jetting done by a pro - mechanic to suite the new FMF system.O, yes and rune Bel-Ray MOTO-CHILL coolant or a similar top brand. Also run Bel-Ray HR1 full synthetic two stroke or a similar top brand full synthetic 2 stroke only. I used to have one myself when I started out and they are great bikes to bad Kawasaki stopped making them. I had a KLX 450 R, just to heavy for technical stuff but the double overhead cam engin loved the open stuff and it could get to 160 plus kph, more if you were willing to try. I now ride a 2011 KTM 250 XC-W also a great bike, and I must say worth the bit of extra money you pay for it. I actually installed some flickers switches etc. etc. and it is roadworthy. ways. KTM's come with road legal papers. Anyway enjoy the KDX and if you are still in doubt about the power, just have a new piston kit installed - and she will give you many years of service. Cheers!
